ChinApps started as a list I kept for friends flying to China for the first time. Almost everything here is the answer to a question somebody actually asked me, usually from an airport, usually too late to fix.

Everything is free and stays on your own device. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking beyond a cookieless count of page views.

China changes quickly and this will drift. If an app has moved, a rule has changed or a phrase reads oddly to a native speaker, please tell me — corrections are the most useful thing anyone sends.
